La Vicentica

La Vicentica is a family bakery on Avinguda Pla de la Sèquia. It serves the lower part of the village. (There’s a friendly rivalry with Forn Francis in the upper part.) There’s always a queue here, and that’s perfectly fine.

The shop opened in 1968, but the family has been baking for more than 150 years, handing the trade down from mother to daughter. It’s now in its fifth generation.

Besides pan de bocadillo (the bread for bocadillos, Spanish filled baguettes) in every size, they have bread of all kinds, savoury cocas and empanadillas. There’s plenty of sweet too, from tarta de Santiago to sweet-potato pastries. Around Christmas they make pastissets de Nadal, a kind of sweet empanadilla.
